adventures of c&k: one enchanted evening
That’s right – a ball. The Quadrille Ball, to be exact.
My involvement with the Quadrille began over two years, while Karl has been involved for over five years. I was on the Junior Committee again this year, charged with teaching the new set of dancers the intricate movements of the Quadrille. There is so much I could say about the three months of rehearsals, the day itself, the wonderful people of the JC as well as the dancers, but I’m still recovering from being awake for 23 hours on Saturday (It normally takes me a couple of days to recover from such a long day; being pregnant I feel like I need a couple of weeks to recover!). Needless to say, my brain is still processing.
We didn’t quite dance the night away; I had been on my feet for a good part of the day with final preparations, but Karl did twirl me around the floor several times. The dancers’ performance of the Quadrille was well done. There were a few hiccups throughout the day, but all in all it was a successful evening. I have no idea how I managed to stay awake the whole time I was there. Not only was I awake, but I was functioning and active!
The Quadrille Ball is a fantastic event, and we are thrilled to be a part of it!

Just for the record, I think everyone should have the chance to don formal wear and attend a ball. It truly is an enchanting experience!
